Android-x86 is a project to port Android open source project to x86 platform, formerly known as “patch hosting for android x86 support“. The original plan is to host different patches for android x86 support from open source community. A few months after they created the project, they found out that we could do much more than just hosting patches. So they decide to create our code base to provide support on different x86 platforms, and set up a git server to host it.
This is an open source project licensed under Apache Public License 2.0. Some components are licensed under GNU General Public License (GPL) 2.0 or later.

If anyone asks … What is my first Android gadget mine? The answer is … DELL Inspiron 1440 that is installed with android-x86-2.3-RC1-asus_laptop.iso. I myself have used Android for long time, and my first phone is Samsung Galaxy Gio. But still my first Android gadget isn’t a phone 
Probably, I have joined Android-x86 Google Groups for around 6 years, but never contribute anything useful. I’ve seen the rise and fall of this project, starting from when their Google Code is banned until the ConsoleOS scam by Christoper Price that is made with KickStarter, that the repo is just blind copy paste from android-x86 and other projects.
But its the past. This is the time I made something useful.
This mirror is hosted using Google Compute Engine. But then, why you should download here?
